Wonderland Premieres New Rvdical The Kid EP ‘Little Planet’

Five years after his seminal debut project Carte Blanche, which has seen his music garner over two million streams as well as critical acclaim and support from the likes of Pigeons & Planes, FACT Magazine, Soulection, Indieshuffle, BandCamp and The Native Magazine, Beninois-Ghanaian producer, DJ and artist RVDICAL THE KID is proud to release his long-awaited and highly anticipated sophomore project titled Little Planet, as premiered by Wonderland.

Out on August 14 via Platoon, Rvdical’s Little Planet EP sees the Accra-based producer and DJ collaborating with some of his favourite artists from all across the globe, including Ghanaian- American songstress Amaarae, who comes championed by the likes of Apple Music, NPR, The FADER, and Hypebeast, Canadian-Nigerian rising star Nonso Amadi as supported by Beats 1, Complex, and Notion, Harlem-based Cameroonian newcomer Yonkwi, and Spotify, Pigeons & Planes and Earmilk backed LA-based alt-pop musician Maesu.

Together, they have delivered a glorious 5-track offering, which weaves Rvdical’s intricate soundscapes, groovy textures and colourful rhythms, together with exquisite vocals, bright and infectious melodies, and captivating songwriting. From Amaarae on the ethereal ‘Nasa’, and Nonso Amadi on the dreamy R&B-tinged ‘Often’, to Yonkwi on the bouncy hip-hop fusing ‘Skimp On The Shrimp’, and Maesu on the soulful alternative leaning ‘Rosemary’, the EP introduces listeners to Rvdical’s ‘Little Planet’ where everyone is allowed to be their quintessential selves.

Speaking about the inspiration behind his Little Planet project, Rvdical says, “this idea of a ‘Little Planet’ just comes from the fact that I was able to create my own world, independent of the real life and I was able to find these likeminded people who really understood what I was trying to say musically, and who were literally on the same path and journey as me. You have musicians who I work with that have grown to be my family, like AyWy from Australia, who is basically my Indian twin brother, and Maesu, with whom our friendship has grown so much more than the music, as well as Yonkwi, who is slowly now tapping into my world and me into his.

Through our music, I have been able to build strong connections with so many different people across the world, and for me, that’s my ‘Little Planet’ – my whimsical world filled with zany and unique characters that interact with each other in one way or the other. Over the years I've met a lot of crazy talented and unique individuals especially via the internet that have all become very key pieces in my universe and have helped me become the artist I am today. We all have our own little planets, my hope for the project is to share with and in turn inspire listeners to connect more with each other, and in their small ways, brighten the corners they inhabit”.
