Chart Topping UK Songstress

Summer 2015 Campaign

You will remember DYO (Ms. D) from her chart topping guest appearances on Chipmunk’s ‘Oopsy Daisy’ and Wiley’s ‘Heatwave’, plus further collaborations with Wiley on UK top ten singles ‘Can You Hear Me (Ayayaya)’ and ‘Reload’. The acclaimed songwriter – real name Dayo Olatunji – has already been championed by Guardian Music, i-D Magazine and BBC 1Xtra among others.

Having also penned hits and worked with the likes of Iggy Azalea (‘Bounce’), Rita Ora, Wretch 32, Naughty Boy and MNEK, Ms. D is already an acclaimed and highly sought after singer and songwriter, at just 23. Following her solo debut EP ‘Resonance’ in 2014, she has gone on to collaborate with Kojak, Pia Mia, Invisible Men and Craig David on exciting new music to come.

Ms. D returns in 2015 with an emphatic teaser of what to expect from her this year, collaborating with fast-rising producer Jay Weathers (Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, Jimmy Napes) on this brilliant cinematic and ambient reworking of Nicki Minaj’s latest single ‘The Night Is Still Young’, which sees Ms. D and Weathers turning the original Minaj effort on its head, giving it ample room to breath, an urban flavour and depth for Ms. D’s vocals to stand out.

Speaking about her inspiration for reworking ‘The Night Is Still Young’, Ms. D says “I love the original by Nicki Minaj, I like that it’s a very feel good record and I wanted to emphasize the message of having fun whilst you’re young, and not growing old before your time. But I’m also saying you can have a good time sober, everyone enjoys their night in different ways”.
