Notion Magazine Features New Borelson Single ‘Summertime in Toronto’

After closing out last year in glorious fashion with his biggest ever Toronto headline show, and on the back of wrapping up his first ever European tour last month, which included memorable dates in the UK, France, Luxemburg, and Sweden, as well as an unforgettable sold-out show in Paris, Gabonese-Congolese afrofusion artist BORELSON is ready to take over the summer and put on for the city he now calls home, with his exciting new single titled ‘SUMMERTIME IN TORONTO’, as featured in Notion Magazine.

Produced by Nigerian musician Omaremii, and featuring Botswana and South African newcomer Nthabi Presh, the single is not only an infectious dancefloor filler with glorious amapiano sensibilities, but also a shining light for Pan-African music collaboration. The song also comes at the perfect time for Borelson, as he embarks on his busiest summer festival season yet, with confirmed festival dates across Canada, including the Carnival Of Algorithmic Cultures, Rhythms Of Canada Festival, Belleville Waterfront & Multicultural Festival, and AFROFEST Toronto, to mention a few.

Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Summertime In Toronto’, Borelson says, “The song’s main inspiration is Toronto, which is the best city in the world, especially when it comes to summer vibes. I was also inspired by Amapiano taking over the world, as well as how Toronto has fully embraced us Africans and our culture over the past few years. Despite everything going on in the world, I think we can all agree it’s still good to celebrate and be grateful for life. This song is perfect for that”.

Now residing in Canada, Borelson spent his formative years in Gabon, Congo, and France, and it is this global citizenship and multicultural background that he brings into the international music landscape, where he is an award-winning artist and multi-disciplinary creative. His unique melting pot of afrobeats, hip-hop, and afrofusion has birthed two acclaimed albums in two years, a CBC Music ‘Top 100 Songs’ accolade, and scene-stealing live performances that have taken Borelson all over the world, from Toronto and Texas to Paris and London to Accra and Miami.
