Rolling Stone Features New Idahams Single ‘Bad Girl’

With over 40 million plays online, three top 10 singles on Music Week’s UK Black Music Chart, and strong support from the likes of BBC 1Xtra and Spotify, fast-rising Nigerian afropop singer, songwriter and producer IDAHAMS has been on a hot streak ever since the release of his acclaimed 2020 EP Man On Fire. Fast-forward to the summer of 2022, and the Bonny Island native is back with a glorious new single titled ‘BAD GIRL’, as featured in Rolling Stone, featuring Ajebo Hustlers, and is excited to announce his highly anticipated debut album titled Truth, Love & Confessions, set for release on September 16.

Out on all streaming platforms today (August 19), ‘Bad Girl’ serves as the lead single for Idaham’s Truth, Love & Confessions album, which fans can pre-order now to receive the single as an instant grat track. Produced by Yussy Beats and mastered by Grammy Award-winning producer and audio engineer Vtek, who has also worked with Adekunle Gold, Yemi Alade, and Kizz Daniel, among others, ‘Bad Girl’ is an infectious afropop offering with lush R&B and hip-hop sensibilities, which sees Idahams and Ajebo Hustlers wax lyrical about their escapades with the beautiful women in their lives.

Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Bad Girl’ and how the collaboration with Ajebo Hustlers came about, Idahams says, “When it came time for me to put my album altogether, I knew I had to connect with my brothers Ajebo Hustlers, because we share ties from our back home in Port Harcourt in Nigeria, and ‘Bad Girl’ was just the perfect song for us to work together on, thanks to Yussy on the production. The inspiration behind the song is essentially us exploring and sharing the experiences and escapades that we’ve had with the beautiful women in our lives.”

The release of this new single ‘Bad Girl’ from Idahams, and his upcoming album Truth, Love & Confessions come after several months of creative hibernation for the multitalented singer, songwriter, and producer, which have seen him carefully put together a symphonic memoir of his personal life experiences over the past year, while also addressing the socio-political and environmental issues that are currently affecting his hometown – the outcome of which, is a glorious melting pot of good music, confessional true stories and personal activism.

Idahams’ ‘Bad Girl’ is out now via Grafton Records, while his highly anticipated debut album ‘Truth, Love & Confessions’ arrives on September 16.
