At its core, ‘Sit Down’ is a fearless anthem of self-empowerment, with Lahrel using the track to send a clear message: claim your space and let no one diminish your worth. According to the West London native, “this song is about how I move to my own rhythm, unafraid to claim myspace, in my own words on my own terms, at my own pace”, with Lahrel asserting how the phrase “sit down” is a powerful command, urging naysayers to step back and recognize that they are not on her level. Through the song’s confident lyrics and infectious soundscape, Lahrel is encouraging listeners to embrace their inner strength and exude confidence, no matter what challenges or competition come their way.
