New Noise Magazine Features Dead Hendrix And Levi Zadoff EP ‘Dead Summer’

Introducing Los Angeles pop-punk musician LEVI ZADOFF and Ottawa punk newcomer DEAD HENDRIX with their new EP titled DEAD SUMMER, as featured on New Noise Magazine, which sees the punk duo mourning the summers that we lost to Covid. Coming to terms with not just the metaphorical death of summer these past two years when everybody was in lockdown, but also the loss of friends and family due to the virus and drug abuse that was exacerbated by the global pandemic, Dead Hendrix and Levi Zadoff have used those feelings of loss and angst as fuel to create their new EP, DEAD SUMMER.

For their DEAD SUMMER project, Dead Hendrix and Levi Zadoff have collaborated with burgeoning producers IOF (Future, Paris Shadows), Yago Beats, SPLASHGVNG (Lil Peep, Sewerperson) and Imani Beats, to bring their glorious punk fusion sound, with its experimental pop-punk and rap-rock sensibilities, further to life all through the 5-track EP offering. Driven by relatable songwriting, compelling angst-fuelled vocal performances, infectious hooks, catchy melodies and excellent musicianship, Dead Hendrix and Levi Zadoff have delivered for fans and critics alike.

From the ironic EP opener sarcastically titled ‘Don’t Think It Could Get Much Better’, because things clearly could get much better than those covid summers, and the introspective ‘Alone’, which sees Hendrix and Zadoff telling a sad story of loneliness and confusion from two opposite perspectives, to ‘Can’t Be God’, where both artists are accepting that they can’t control every aspect of their lives, and ‘Love Game’, about being trapped in our own heads and struggling with our emotions, the DEAD SUMMER EP makes for a compelling listen that will hold your attention from start to finish.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the DEAD SUMMER EP, Levi Zadoff says, “This project means the world to me, it was extremely fun to create and a pain in the ass to release, but most importantly, it’s probably the most authentic yet experimental piece of work I’ve ever been a part of making”, with Dead Hendrix adding that, “This is the closest thing (so far) to my musical aspirations coming to life. It’s the perfect blend of melody, edge, counterculture, and relevance that I want to make. I think with Levi, I am finally making the music I have envisioned since I was 13”.

Having previously lived in Australia and the Netherlands, rising LA pop-punk musician Levi Zadoff has a global outlook and diverse life experiences that shine through in his music. With over 10 million plays on SoundCloud, he is a firm believer of freedom or artistry and the idea that music is one of the best tools to communicate. His collaborator on this new project, Dead Hendrix is an exciting new prospect to watch this year. Hailing from Ottawa in Canada, Hendrix is gaining notoriety in his city for the uniqueness and originality of his punk fusion music, which he is ready to share with the world.

The ‘DEAD SUMMER’ EP from Dead Hendrix and Levi Zadoff is out on June 3.
