MANINTOWN Magazine Interviews Adejosh About His New EP ‘All For Me’

Just over five years on from bursting onto the UK music landscape with his debut EP ‘Confident’, which garnered over 100,000 streams on SoundCloud alone, and put him firmly on the map within the global afrobeats scene, British Nigerian musician ADEJOSH is excited to unveil his long-awaited and highly anticipated sophomore EP titled ALL FOR ME. Set for release on July 15 via ONErpm, the 4-track project sees AdeJosh reuniting with long-time collaborator and producer ATG Musick, who has also worked with the likes of Not3s, Ms. Banks, IAMDDB, Darkoo and Kelly Rowland, among others. He sat down with Manintown for an interview about the new EP.

Having worked together on AdeJosh’s debut EP at the beginning of his career, this new EP All For Me is a true full-circle moment for the rising star and his producer ATG Musick, and it sees them picking up exactly where they left off, with the undeniable chemistry between them – that birthed such cult classics like ‘Correlate’ and ‘Confam It’ – revealing itself in full display all over this new project. Thematically, the EP also sees AdeJosh going back to the beginning in another full-circle moment, as he embarks on a journey of self-discovery and truly understanding his self-value.

The All For Me EP opens confidently with the aptly titled ‘Intro’, with AdeJosh in summer lover boy mode as he croons about “gyal dem season”, while highlighting his glorious flow and smooth vocal delivery. The infectious drums-heavy ‘My Own’ reveals a more self-reflective AdeJosh, who understands the need to be by yourself sometimes, and on ‘Chargie’, he cleverly juxtaposes that position with a classic boy-meets-girl tale as he confesses his love for his “chargie”. The EP closes out with AdeJosh putting his best foot forward for his leading lady on the bouncy title track ‘All For Me’.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the All For Me EP, AdeJosh says, “the EP was inspired by a series of events that led me on a path of self-discovery and truly understanding my value. For me to know what I want ‘All For Me’, I had to know my heart’s desires and what I deserve. I have grown to be more self-aware and understand my true value and worth as a person. The passion behind my music is giving my listeners the music that their souls can connect to; I want to use my music to translate and express emotions and take people through the journeys of life that we all encounter”.

With over five million global streams, and support from the likes of BBC 1Xtra, Capital Xtra, Wireless, AfroNation and Amazon’s Plus44, AdeJosh is a star in the making. The British Nigerian performing artist, songwriter, and musician started his musical journey in his local church, where he developed a penchant for creating timeless music for the soul. Shaped by his East London upbringing and Nigerian heritage, AdeJosh comes with a unique sound and musical direction that excellently blends UK afroswing, dancehall, afrobeats, hip-hop and R&B together to perfection.

‘All For Me’, the new EP from AdeJosh is out on July 15 via ONErpm.
