East London Hip Hop artist Rageouz and South East London singer and songwriter Preachersoul, both members of the fast-rising one50 arts collective, are proud to debut their highly anticipated collaborative EP titled B2DF (Back 2 Da Future), which was just premiered via EARMILK.
Produced by Norwich beatsmith Shan J, and led by the SBTV-premiered single ‘Faded’, which was released at the start of the month to rave reviews, the B2DF EP sees Rageouz and Preachersoul channelling their love for 90’s Hip Hop and Soul music, to deliver a glorious 4-track project, emphasised by a strong lyrical showing from Rageouz, and a captivating and soulful vocal display from Preachersoul.
Championed by the MOBO Awards, GRM Daily, Earmilk and The Source among others, on the back of two stellar projects, 2014’s Authentape with Ayar and last year’s Ethos EP, Rageouz has become one to watch within the resurgent UK rap scene, while Preachersoul is one of the UK’s most exciting new Hip Hop/Soul musicians, with two well-received EPs, Southern Soul and The 202, already under his belt.
From opening track ‘So Called Players’, which eases us effortlessly into the vibe of the entire EP, with Preachersoul’s smooth vocals taking centre stage, to the EP’s lead single ‘Faded’ which sees Rageouz waxing lyrical about being hooked on the things or people we love, even to our own detriment, to the uplifting curtain call ‘Precision’, the B2DF EP makes for a satisfying listen from start to finish.
