Earmilk Premieres New Aspen Martin EP ‘Everything Or Nothing’

Underpinned by an enthralling cocktail of infectious R&B/Hip Hop soundscapes, over which exciting new singer, songwriter, rapper and everything in between Aspen Martin showcases his clever lyricism, honest songwriting, lush vocals, and commanding presence, the Everything Or Nothing EP as premiered exclusively via Earmilk sees producer CMPLX, whose previous production credits include Drake, Rich Homie Quan, and Roy Woods, collaborating with Aspen Martin on the first three songs of the 6-track project, ‘I H8 U’, ‘Can’t Relate’ and ‘I Know’, with Tha Officialz, who have worked for the likes of 6LACK, J.I.D, Mereba, and T.I, producing the EP’s final track ‘What You Need’, Stunnah Sez (Hopsin, Phora, Murs) helming ‘First Time’ and Accent Beats producing the project’s lead single ‘Bad Ting’.

Hailing from Savannah, the oldest city in the US state of Georgia, Aspen Martin is an artist, who is often compared to the likes of Ty Dolla $ign, Bryson Tiller, PND and Drake, for his captivating blend of R&B and Hip Hop music. Best known for his breakthrough debut singles ‘Get It’ and ‘End Of Discussion’, which saw him garner nearly two million plays, open for the likes of Da Baby, Boosie Badazz, and Plies, as well as perform at SXSW 2018, Aspen Martin walked away from music in 2018 and 2019 to “live life and experience new things” in his own words, but he is back in 2020 with a glorious and defiant new EP titled Everything Or Nothing.

From the jump, Aspen Martin wears his heart on his sleeves, as he opens up about a toxic relationship on ‘I H8 U’, saying all the things he couldn’t say at the time, while ‘Can’t Relate’ sees the exciting R&B/Hip Hop prospect address the trials and tribulations that come with being a creative and coming into the spotlight. Aspen is in seemingly braggadocios mode on the toxic ‘I Know’ where he insists on being “cut friends” with a girl he’s just met, but on ‘Bad Ting’, almost in juxtaposition, Aspen pays homage to women, who he says “always get things done”, and he closes out the EP with two infectious bouncy R&B leaning rap/sung deep cuts ‘First Time’ and ‘What You Need’.

Speaking about the inspiration behind his Everything Or Nothing EP and how the record came together, Aspen Martin says, “I took a year off back in 2018 to live life and experience new things, and during this time, I’ve experienced a lot of love, heartbreak, pain, joy, and in 2019 I dealt with betrayal, and a crazy comeuppance that kept me away for longer than planned. Throughout these two years, I kept recorded countless music that has culminated in the six songs on this EP. I plan to add a few more songs to this for a bigger project in the summer, but in the meantime, I wanted this EP to give you an insight to what I was dealing with, during these 2 years”.
