1883 Magazine Features New Jaz Valentino Single ‘Wild Weeds’

After ending the year with the milestone of reaching over a million streams on Spotify, Toronto hybrid artist, songwriter and musician JAZ VALENTINO began 2022 by offering up the teaser track ‘Snowflakes’ to preview his upcoming sophomore album and second project in two years. With the track quickly garnering over 100,000 plays online, Jaz is excited to officially announce ‘Jaz’s Blues (Side A)’. Set for release on April 22, the album will be driven by the introspective lead single ‘WILD WEEDS’,as featured on 1883 Magazine, which arrives on March 31.

Written by Jaz Valentino and produced by Arcane Beats, ‘Wild Weeds’ is a captivating fusion offering, which brings elements of R&B, melodic rap, and indie pop, together with Jaz’s infectious melodies, catchy hooks and deeply personal songwriting, to deliver a life-affirming anthem for all the young people like himself that are battling through demons and trying to heal and rebuild their lives. Whether it’s trying to make it out through the trap or through crypto or through music, Jaz Valentino laments the peril paths in front of him and his peers to save their lives.

Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Wild Weeds’, Jaz Valentino says, “this is one of my more introspective and motivational songs. It is a positive song that takes you on a reflective journey; a journey that inspires you to claim your light. This is my journey but it’s also the journey of many youths around the world that are battling demons and trying to make it out of the escape rooms of their circumstances. The song also looks at the destruction we’ve brought to the world, and instead of focusing on healing and rebuilding, we are often caught up with our own struggle, desire, and realities. We all need to take care of ourselves and our world better”.

Born and raised in Canada with Grenadian and Serbian heritage, Jaz Valentino’s music blurs the line between the classic warm tones of R&B and the dynamic of modern hip-hop, while still leaning on the special connection with rap and R&B music that he has had since a child. Notable for his evocative sounds, lush melodies, layered texture, captivating hook and introspective lyrics, Jaz Valentino as long been able to connect with listeners on a deeper level, using his ‘less is more’ philosophy to make sure his mixes are not overly crowded, and his songs feel spacious and lush, with plenty of room for his songwriting to stick out.

As for what to expect from his upcoming sophomore album Jaz’s Blues (Side A), the 8-track offering was recorded in Phoenix, Atlanta, and Los Angeles, as well as his hometown in Toronto. The project has been three years in the making and sees Jaz Valentino bearing his soul on record about what he’s been going through trying to find his feet in the music industry in the middle of a global pandemic. He recounts numerous rejections, hardships, breakups, and loss on his journey of growth. As he puts it, “growth brings flowers but not one talks about the pain that the bud or seedling goes through. This is men venting my pain but it’s also a helping hand to those going through it too”.

The brand new album ‘Jaz’s Blues (Side A)’ from Jaz Valentino will be released on April 22. The album’s lead single ‘Wild Weeds’ is out now.
